1979 International Scout II Base Sport Utility 2-Door 5.0L for sale
Current customer rating: (531 votes ) based onI have had this Scout for about 8 years and have done a lot of work to it. It has a 304 V8 with a t-19 3 speed manual. 3. 73 gears. Runs perfect. It has a 2" spring lift with a SOA lift. I milled. cut and turned the front axle for proper driveshaft and castor angles. It has brand new 35" MT's. Other goodies include a fully welded rollbar. denali electric seats. SSII grill. steel braded brake lines. true dual exhaust from manifolds back with off road flowmaster mufflers. borgeson u-joint steering shaft. new power steering box and pump. Bestop leather soft top. poly gas tank. straight steer bar. At one time or another I have replaced almost everything. radiator. shackle bushings. tie rod ends. e-brake cable. clutch. brake booster and master cylinder. brake lines front to rear. calipers. shocks. battery etc. Handles AMAZING. if you know anything about scouts and the "death wobbles" and wandering problems this means a lot!! Especially with a spring over and 35" tires!! As far as the body goes I replaced all the rockers and floors The quarters will eventually need some work again as it is starting to rust as well as the front body mounts need attention. The only other issue is the clutch sometimes chatters while engaging due to the large tires and only having a 3 speed. It does not slip at all. Very fun woods/camping rig. Always a head turner and I can't remember all the times people have stopped and asked me about it. You don't see these much anymore. All in all it is a great vehicle and I don't want it to go but other obligations are making me need to sell. I never had a title for it as CT you don't need one to register a vehicle past a certain year.
