1975 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon RIVIERA for sale
Current customer rating:
Up for Bid is a Clean. Beautiful Blue & White 1975 Volkswagen Camper Bus/Vanagon Riviera that is reliable transportation and drives like a dream.
THIS IS THE ONE YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!
With a Low Starting Bid and NO RESERVE: Some extremely lucky individual will drive away with THE DEAL OF THE CENTURY! The starting bid is less than half my investment.
I purchased this Volkswagen in March. 2013. The exterior had been beautifully restored several years before I purchased it. The engine was original and it performed well on many enjoyable camping experiences. After about 6. 00 miles worth of camping trips. the old engine had to be replaced. I replaced the original engine with a “new” aftermarket engine but it turned out that it really should have been used as a boat anchor.
I never completed a successful round trip with the “new” engine so I turned the VW over to a Volkswagen (only) service shop in South Georgia for mechanical restoration. They installed a real rebuilt engine with performance parts and new accessories. At the same time all other necessary mechanical work was carried out including new HD tires.
Some of the new stuff: Weber Progressive Carburetor & Manifold Big Valve Dual Port Heads Distributer Wiring Harness Spark Plugs Coil Rebuilt Generator Fuel Pump. New JVC Combination Stereo Radio - CD Player New ROADIAN CT 8 HD Reinforced Sidewall All Weather Tires. I'm sure there are many other things I've forgotten about.
The camper top is a “straight-up” Riviera POP TOP. It works perfectly. There are a few tiny tears in the screening but I never had any problem with night-bugs. In fact. most times I preferred to sleep “upstairs”.
I started re-upholstering - got as far as main cushion. Fold-down Bench Seat to go. Vinyl Front Seats are in great condition.
Because of health problems and the fact that I'm 82 years old. I had the service shop keep the VW and use it on a regular basis to prove its reliability until I could get it listed on e Bay. I truly loved the camper and going camping but time marches on.
This vehicle is 42 years old. It is not a “show car” and is not offered for sale as one. For its age it is in magnificent condition. But. It was used for camping when I purchased it I used it for camping and it is sold as a camper. The fold-down Bench Seat could use re-upholstering. It has all the insignificant little dings. dents and scratches commensurate with its age and purpose. It has a few [two or three] minor “rust bubbles” along the bottom edge of the body shell. The previous owner replaced the odometer in 2011. the actual mileage is unknown
At the end of bidding the shop owner has agreed to speak with the successful bidder and answer any and all questions that the new owner may have regarding the VW purchase. The VW is located in South Georgia. Local Pickup preferred. Shipping after purchase only if the new owner makes all arrangements.
I have done my best to describe this item carefully and accurately. I am a private seller. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. Sold as-is with no implied warranties. As much as I have tried to represent this vehicle as accurately as possible. with pictures and descriptions. my interpretation of this VW may vary from yours.
