This 1977 CJ 5 Golden Eagle represents the best of the classic "old school" CJs. and combines the rugged good looks of the traditional off-roader with daily driver friendliness that includes a V 8 powerplant. comfortable seats. and an effective stereo system.

You recognize them from a quarter-mile away with their cheerful round headlights and 7-slot grille. a look so iconic the latest Wranglers still wears a version of it. Jeepers wave to each other the way motorcyclists do. and as any of them will tell you. owning a CJ like this is a lifestyle. not mere transportation. Fortunately. this Golden Eagle is a limited edition that stands out with its color scheme. It's also a southern vehicle. so it's lived a gentle and charmed life in warm weather. The paint looks great with a shine that's just right it looks great when you take it to work on sunny days. but on weekends you can still take it out and get it dirty without guilt because this Jeep was built to handle anything you throw at it. The Golden Eagle graphics pop to all that gaze upon them. and tie into the Jeep's distinctly American heritage. Is there any vehicle more patriotic than this? And if you do take it out in the brush. you'll appreciate the heavy-duty spare tire mount and matching fifth wheel assembly so you never have to limp it home.

Inside. the Jeep is basic. but that also means that it's virtually indestructible. Have some fun with the top and doors off and don't think twice about going off the beaten path. that's the name of the game. The seat covers are recent. so they fit well and are quite comfortable for a day of play. and the floor has been covered in fresh tan carpets that give it a surprisingly upscale vibe. The controls will look as familiar to your grandfather who fought in the Korean War as they do to you. with a big steering wheel. long-throw shifter. and gauges clustered in the center of the dash. There is also a modern AM/FM/CD/i Pod stereo system. which powers a pair of Pioneer speakers perched on the tops of the rear fender wells. Fabric doors. side curtains. and a folding top provide the weather protection. but you'll probably spend more time out in the open or with just the bikini top on. which is really how the Jeep was designed to run.

Power comes from AMC's rugged and reliable 304 cubic inch V 8. which makes this CJ 5 a bit of a hot rod on the road and unbeatable on the trail. This one is beautifully detailed with finned valve covers and AMC Blue paint on the block. and it doesn't appear to have been in the mud or dirt. A 2-barrel carburetor helps with the horsepower production. but for the most part it's the same trail-rated machinery that has been doing the job for decades. The suspension is fortified with a lift kit and off-road shocks all around. and a set of long-tube headers and side pipes give it just the right grumble and may even free up a few horsepower. And while you're looking around. just note how truly clean this Jeep is underneath. with obvious signs of recent work in the axles and ultra-sanitary floors. That off-road-ready stance comes from a set of 32 x 11. 5-15 BFG All-Terrain tires on flashy Mickey Thompson Classic aluminum wheels.

Tradition is alive and well for Jeep fans. and the Golden Eagle CJ 5 holds a very special place in the off-roading hall of fame.

Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. Streetside Classic Cars reserves the right to end its auctions early or to cancel bids solely at its discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.

The winning bidder is required to contact Streetside Classic Cars within 24 hours after the close of the auction to finalize the details of the transaction.

A $500 Paypal deposit is required immediately upon selecting the Buy-It-Now option. The $500 Paypal deposit is non-refundable as ending an e Bay auction and not buying the vehicle is very damaging to the seller. Any refunds will be at the sole discretion of Streetside Classic Cars and are not guaranteed.

If winning bidder does not contact Streetside Classic Cars and submit deposit within 48 hours of auction close. vehicle may be made available to the next highest bidder or another qualified buyer on a first come. first serve basis.

For balance of payment we will accept bank wire transfer (preferred). cashier's check. or personal check (vehicle shipment will be delayed until check clears).
