1988 Military M 998 Humvee which is street legal and has a clear title.
Ready for the road with only 42 K miles. This vehicle has the 6. 2 L diesel motor with a 3 speed auto and a NP 218 transfer case. The 4 wheel drive works in all gears. The vehicle has the factory 12 bolt 16. 5" Military beadlock wheels which has been freshly painted flat black. On the wheels are the Military Goodyear MTRs 37 x 12. 5 with ~ 60% to 70% tire life left.
The fluids have been changed: differentials. gear hub assembly. brake flush. oil change. This Humvee has a lot of eye catching looks on the outside. With a new flat green paint job. the trim of the lights. grill. bumper. mirrors. window trim and door jams painted flat black gives the truck a very smooth and stealth look. The Humvee has had a few upgrades to it including factory military metal hard doors installed. which the old glass has been removed due to damge and new glass has been installed. with striker plates and sliding glass window and a high rise snorkel pipe for the intake (not a full snorkel kit). The soft top is a military camo wagon style. keeping the Humvee look. The interior has had a few upgrades right when you open the door you see that the inside has a new bed liner from the center console down to the floor board. Most of the seat cushions have been replaced with newer and bigger padding for a softer place to sit on longer drives. Another great upgrade is a new ignition switch with 2 keys. replacing the “anyone can start” ignition turn switch. Now you can park your Humvee anywhere. The two (2) batteries have been replaced with new military spec batteries.
I've enjoyed driving the truck.
It's been in a local parade and showcased at a few local car shows. I'm selling it to begin a new project. This vehicle drives great around town and also on the highway. With the 3 speed you can stay a steady 60 to 65 mph on the highway while everyone gives you a wave or a thumbs up. There is no pulling or shaking in the wheel while driving.
You could take this vehicle anywhere. park in a normal parking spot or even take through the bank drive-thru. If you are ready for a lot of attention. this truck is for you.
