Restored Condition
The good--A piece of 1971 history. First year 1600 motor. step bumper. disc brakes. I have never driven this bus w/o someone taking a pic on their phone.
Completely restored (gutted out to bare metal) from the kick plates in front to back hatch. Canvas top is great. with exception of fifty cent hole in canvas. just never felt like sewing it together.
Custom drapery. logo front seats.
believe it or not but the drapery was $600 alone. Not pictured is the bed mat upholstered in same material.
Pop up camper . Bench seat folds down to bed. brand new seat belts--seats 5. I kept original cabinets. took out old sink pump-didn't work anyway. I have custom wood cabinet for brand new frig. not pictured. everything new inside. even the kick plates are restored absolutely no rust inside as it was gutted out and no rust on frame or metals underneath. Outside paint is all good. engine compartment like new. I have put over 12000 miles on this bus. drives fantastic. Drives like a brand new bus. I drive every other day between this and my bug. Another great note: no radiator. oil filter. easy maintenance.
The not so good-- some very little surface rust on back quarter panels maybe size of 1" by 3 " at top of wheel well. could be easily sanded down w/o replacement. could use front driver carpet carpet. since restoration have driven daily and is a little worn. maybe 100 bucks to put another piece in there. no heat. never bothered to get it fixed cause I live in the south. This bus will only do up in value. selling for retirement.
