The 1928 Cadillac La Salle V 8 has a capacity of 303 cubic inches. There are 2 engines #223204 and # 212597 along with many spare parts for swapping. These La Salles have been a very popular and reliable touring car here in Australia. with a loyal following around the world.
This 1928 Cadillac La Salle V 8 can be a 4 passenger phaeton or made into a dual cowl sport phaeton. It was originally a RHD sedan. but was rebodied many years ago probably by Peter Lamb and/or associates in the late 1980 s. They used the longer 134" wheelbase to enable enough passenger room for 4 normal size people. The body has all new wood and metal panels. The front guards are exceptional originals fitted for 6 wheel equipment. with new side aprons and running boards from Peter Jackson. The bonnet and rear guards are good. We have some of the windscreen parts and some of the top irons. We recently sanded the body back to bare metal. rust treated the surface. and then applied fresh etch primer.
The chassis has already been restored. It has retempered springs. new shackle bushes. and new rebound rubbers. The front end and diff assemblies have been rebuilt. There are 4 x 20" wire wheels with tyres holding air. and 3 separate wire wheels. Side mount brackets are included as well as additional hubs and brake parts. The petrol tank and sender unit were also restored. Most instruments and a dash are included.
The car is missing bumpers (if required). door handles. and the rear trunk that sits behind the back seat.
A reasonable payment timetable and storage can be negotiated.
