The previous bidder that won this truck did not realize exactly what he was bidding on. please feel free to call me with any questions about the truck that you may have before bidding - I would be happy to answer them.   If you would like to come and inspect the truck or drive it that would be fine. always available to go show it off.

First thing that you should be aware of if you are going to bid on this truck is that it is larger than a regular pickup truck. it is heavier. and it will not fit in a double car garage.   A normal car carrier will not be able to haul it for you.   It is considered a commercial vehicle and if you go to register it as such it will be expensive as will be the insurance. this is why when it I register it here it is registered as a collector tractor.   Less than 10. 00 GVWR. non commercial vehicle for private use.   It weighs 9. 00 LBS with a driver and full tank of fuel.   It is 24' in length. the widest part of the body is 96" (113" across the mirrors). and 112" from the floor to the tips of the stacks.   The collectors/specialty vehicle insurance is less for this than the regular insurance on my 2014 Ford F150.

To answer a few questions from the previous listing. it runs off of pump GASOLINE. nbsp;it will drive anywhere you want to go but it is not fast - we recently went on about a 300 mile cruise on secondary roads and it ran out fine all day long 55-65 MPH.   It does have a 5 speed transmission and a  2-Speed rear axle. it is so light without the fire apparatus that the axle can be left in hi range for all driving conditions.   I use low range when I am backing it into the warehouse where I keep it because it is really slow and easy to maneuver in low range.   It does have power steering and is effortless to steer. the brakes will stand the truck on end - no problem stopping at all.

This was formerly a fire truck used by a volunteer fire department.   It belonged to the same fire company when purchased new in 1975 until it was decommissioned in 2012. the mileage is correct and is well documented as  these vehicles usually are.   The truck was purchased without the fire apparatus with the intention of doing exactly what has been done to it. we use it for car shows. parades. and just something to drive that not really anyone else has.    It is a fun vehicle to drive. it does have air brakes and does ride rather rough with a top speed of about 65 MPH.   The 534 cubic inch engine runs well and starts immediately every time.   The 5" exhaust stacks have 3" glass packs installed inside so it has a low rumble that gets a thumbs up every time someone hears you shift.   The aluminum tread bright on the back and the stainless on the rear fenders and light assemblies have never seen rain or weather and are flawless.   The chrome and stainless on the front is impressive as well.   The interior is good. headliner has been reupholstered with sound deadening material added. the seat is original and in great shape - no rips or tears. the dash does have some holes from the radios and other equipment the was once mounted in it.   The cab and chassis are clean and rust free entirely. very straight and solid.    The tires are 3-4 years old and have 98% of their tread. brakes are at 90% as well. the power steering makes turning effortless. and all lights are functional with exception of the spotlights on either side.   New battery six months ago.   The truck weighs 10. 00 lbs.   The bang board behind the cab has provisions for a 10. 00 lb electric winch. I have thought about having ramps built so that some of our other classics can be hauled to shows.   Don't ask about the fuel mileage. if it is a concern then you probably are not the right person for this truck.   All of the glass is in excellent condition. this vehicle is stored inside as it was for most of it's life I believe. I can be reached at 303-594-0670 with any questions. Happy Bidding!
