1982 AMC Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler
Truck just arrived in NC from Texas. This was a solid rust free truck prior to the frame off / nut bolt restoration about 3 years ago. It has had some road time since and has some very minor. close up. imperfections. but for the most part. it's a show car but not a museum piece
. It has had some tasteful modifications. such as the bumpers. 3" lift. alloy wheels. BF Goodrich 32 x 11. 50's. CD player. and bed liner. The bed liner was done for all practical purposes & not to hide patch work. Upon close examination you will see this Jeep is all original metal without any patch work. bondo etc. It is just as clean underneath as it is on top. The truck was restored with intentions of being used as a daily driver. That is why it's not a 40. 00 dollar museum relic and is priced according to its condition & intended use as a high quality daily driver classic.
The engine has been rebuilt & bored . 40 over. The bottom end was just redone. ( here's the story as to why. ) A bad starter solenoid caused the starter to hang up. damaging the flywheel. While replacing the flywheel. we noticed the thread bolts to the crank were damaged. so the only right way to fix this was to install a new crank & rebuild the entire bottom end. replacing the bearings. oil pump and a number of other things while the engine was out. An inspection of the cylinder walls showed that the top end was in excellent condition & that a . 40 visible on the piston indicated the engine has been bored out. So now. the engine runs very smooth & quiet. with less than 100 miles on the bottom end rebuild. new flywheel. throw-out bearing & clutch. Mechanically this jeep is in excellent condition & good to go for another 30 some years.
This was a factory A/C vehicle. All of the components are there except for the under dash unit.
All factory gauges work like they should.
Over all. a great looking. reliable classic Jeep that will only continue to rise in value.
Priced with a reasonably low reserve. or buy it now for only 28. 00
