Dino Deon Replica, FACTORY BUILT EX DEMO CAR, NOT FERRARI,TVR, LOTUS ELISE KIT for sale
Current customer rating: (697 votes ) based onThis very car was unveiled at the Stonleigh Kit Car show in 1995 by Heavyweight boxer Frank Bruno and was featured in many of the kit cars mags of the time (i have copies of the mags)
There are build receipts for the car totaling over £20k. the 3 piece compomotive split rims were over £1k and the front windscreen is original Ferrari Dino.
The engine is a 2. 9 ford EFI unit modified sump 2wd and a RS turbo slip diff gearbox with adapter plate. the engine runs but at this moment the clutch will not engage the gears. this maybe an adjustment issue.
A big negative about these Deon Dino replicas was always the fact that the footwell was too cramped and the steering wheel set too low rendering the cars virtually undrivable. this car has had modifications made to the footwell and an adjustable steering column installed.
This car will make someone an exiting and rewarding restoration project it is a 1995 kit car that has been standing for many years so parts will need restoring and the car needs a paint job in rosso Corsa no doubt!
The car also has a metal frame fold up roof that i believe to be the only one Deon got made for these cars. the roof fits well but the canvas has faded and it will want a re-trim.
Even though the car is a restoration project the car is complete and the body was made by one of the leading fibre glass companies of the time and they did not skimp on resin. the body is over half inch thick in some places and the chassis is strong box section with only mild surface rust in some places where the paint has peeled. no rot what so ever.
Today the price of the full body with all the panels and chassis for one of these cars would run you over 8k and when you start adding things like the glass. door frames ect. ct and the fact this is a road registered car it's easy to see the value here.
Here is the chance for those who are capable of doing the work themselves or know a man who can to buy a road registered Dino replica complete but needing restoration so when it is to your satisfaction you can get in it and drive and not have to have the expense and head ache of an IVA test. unlike a new build there are no expensive parts to aquire. all the mechanical parts of the car a cheap as chips should you wish to replace anything. and the car is complete so no guess work required to re-build anything.
Winning bidder must contact me by phone straight after auction end. a £250 deposit by way of paypal and pick up by trailer or truck within 2 days.
I also have some original very rare original ferrari dino headlamp covers with aluminium trim and various exact replica Dino fibre glass panels should the new owner want to turn this into a more conventional Dino replica. the rear panel i have with that takes the round Ferrari lights would be a must to graft in before a repaint IMO. (the panels and light cover can be had by separate negotiation.
The V5 states Deon as the make. More pictures to follow.
