Aston Martin Lagonda Limited introduced the DBS in 1967 as a transition from the DB 6 model to the new era of Aston Martin. The new DBS featured a larger wheelbase & square full-width grille with a 4-seat coupe configuration. while powered by DB 6's iconic 4. 0 L 6-cylinder inline engine delivering 286 hp and reaching a top speed of 141 mph. Thanks to its impressive exterior design. the car was used in several Hollywood productions including James Bond's 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' and 'The Persuaders' TV Series. The DBS namesake is still used today as homage to this brilliant model.
The Aston Martin presented here is considered the gentleman's DBS. finished in Deep Carriage Green over Tan leatherwork on wire wheels lavishly equipped with power windows. power assisted steering. air conditioning. automatic transmission. Fiamm horns. rear lapbelts. headrests and rare factory Webasco sunroof. The car was dispatched on June 13. 1969 from the factory and originally imported by Aston Martin Lagonda Inc. as a U. S. model. It was sold new by Aston Martin Lagonda Sales in New York City to a Mr. Armand Bartos of Park Avenue. New York on January 20. 1970.
Mr. Kramer. the second and long-term owner then acquired the DBS from Gran Turismo Automotive Enterprises. LTD. of Greenvale. NY in February of 1973 with trade of a 1964 Aston Martin DB 5. Kramer was sure to garage and maintain the car throughout the years as evident by its current condition. Today. this outstandingly preserved and remarkably original example retains all of its factory equipment. body panels. etched glass. upholstery and factory original paint. Proper Michelin white line tires and Lucas fog lamps compliment. As per Mr. Kramer the mileage of 48. 00 is original.
As expected with age comes the typical bumps. bruises and beautiful patina. The unspoiled engine bay and stowage compartment complete with tools and jack show well. as do the frame and pans which are completely solid. free of corrosion and bear the unmolested factory undercoating. Startups are reliable with solid handling reflected by its originality.
Included with the DBS is the original Instruction Book. Service Booklet. Factory Warranty Certificate. Voxson booklet. insurance cards dating back to 1973. copy of the 1973 Bill of Sale and British Motor Industry Heritage Trust verifying the vehicle's factory configuration. This stunning final-year Aston Martin DBS certainly impresses and makes for a strong preservation class competitor. Such an incredible find for the discerning enthusiast seeking an original. unmolested. complete and documented example.
