1969 Jaguar E type 2 seater fixed head coupe. we have imported this car from California and it is a genuine Californian car. The car does not have either its engine or gearbox as they were removed in 1979 as the then second owner decided to do a V 8 conversion. however for various reasons this did not happen so no modifications have taken place and the car is simply less the engine and gearbox. the 3 rd owner purchased the car as a project in the early 80's and sent the engine and gearbox to a specialist for inspection/ overhaul prior to re-fitting but never collected them! The car remained in storage until we purchased it. it is showing 38. 00 miles however this cannot be proven to be correct. the only sure fact is that the car was only 10 years old when taken off the road so has been unused for 34 years. The panel fit is all very good and there are no signs of any major damage repair. the bonnet is very nice in all aspects. the rest of the body is very sound and straight and would be a restorers dream. their are some small isolated areas of corrosion in the front floor pans and on the base of one sill under the battery tray area. the boot floor is superb. as stated the car has had no corrosion repairs so what you see is what you will get unlike the hidden nasties in so many e types. The interior has suffered due to heat and sunshine and will require total renovation. the chrome bumpers are all very good and even the plating has remained good. The real tailgate glass was broken and therefore is missing. If you either have a rotten etype or a spare engine and gearbox this should be the car of your dreams. we have priced it to sell and have based the price on what we could sell the major parts for if broken for spares. however that would be criminal ! The car has all paperwork and import duties are all paid so registration will be straightforward once back on the road. The car is very keenly priced to sell and therefore low offers will not be appreciated. Please call for more details.
