MERCEDES 450 SL auto convertible with hardtop.
Ideal spares or restoration.
The perfect restoration project has the original hardtop.

The car is idea for spares/restoration.
I have owned the car since 1996 when I bought the car as a restoration project. The car had an insurance valuation of 14 k. The car was on the road in 1996 and driven. I then worked overseas and put the car in dry storage for the following 15 years with a car cover over it.
I have just retired and my main project was to get the car back on the road. This was a real passion. Much work has been done i. e. the petrol tank was removed and restored using a professional 3 part cleaner the real end fuel supply was renewed using Mercedes parts i. e. the fuel pump. fuel filter and accumulator (as in the pictures).
The fuel lines were cleaned and the injectors all cleaned. A new engine air filter and housing were fitted and the bonnet has had a new lining. New exhaust rear box was also fitted.
I have had the car started. hence the photos of it on my drive.

However I have had to stop the work on the car due to my bad health.

The car looks great with cream and chrome wheel arches and has a rare factor fitted body kit authenticated by the Mercedes Owners Club. Because of my ill health and my inability to carry on working on the car. I am unable to guarantee the full condition of the car. I would however say that it is a good car for restoration. if not the best.
