VW Beetle 1303. 1975.
OK. Bought this for the OH - but she doesn't like it. Too fast. So it's for sale. Actually. anyone want a s/hand nurse? Been 'round the block a few times? No?
Alright. back to the car.
It is a 1776 cc engine. with a single 40 IDF Weber. Engle W-110 cam. More lift and duration. When I bought the car the engine was supposed to be rebuilt. Yea. right! So using the 1776 pistons etc it was rebuilt.
Here is a list of some of the new parts:
Rings. valve guides. cam. Kenedy clutch. Weber IDF carb. 123 distributor (electronic). bearings. gaskets. push rod tubes. plugs. leads. etc. Some of the tinware too.
It has an external oil cooler and filter under the rear wing. Bugpack exhaust. All adds up to 76 bhp and 107 ftlb torque. Making it indecently quick for a Beetle.
The interior is mostly new. Door cards. carpets and Bride seats. S/h but very nice Italian leather steering wheel. Covers on the rear seat to (almost) match the fronts.
The heater and fresh air systems actually work - new exchanger cables fitted. The exchangers are the proper oem ones.
The floor pans were new when I got it. The heater channels are very good. The wings I would guess are recent.
The paintwork is OK - ish. It was Kermit Green originally. but it was sprayed black sometime in its murky history. The shiny waist trims are new.
Stuff like the clock. interior light work. There is an unconnected stereo in the dash. no idea if it works. It does indicate the power of the car by flying out under hard aceleration. Oh. feel the G forces!
Alloy wheels. tyres - yes. but not new. Bumpers powder coated to look like chrome.
New wiper arms and blades. Lots of other new bits I can't remember. It's my age. you know. What car was this? Who am I?
So. A decent modified (rivet counters need not apply) Beetle. Will have a new Mo T. No previous history.
I will take some more pics soon The batteries I bought at the local shop only last for one picture - really!
That is it. Buy it. You know it makes sense. Especially at this price. No p/ex.
No timewasters please. Just turn up with the cash in your hot. sticky hand. Job done. It must go so I can afford my new car and so i can buy food for the parrot and the cats. Spending a fortune on cat food as some stray keeps coming in and eating our cats food. Not even friendly. the little sod.
