Up for auction today on behalf of a colleague is a rare barn find 1968 Ford Cortina Lotus Mk 2 series 1 in need of some restoration. The Cortina is unfortunately minus its Lotus engine but the rest of the drivetrain is still there. that said the gearbox looks to be a type 5 2000 E type gearbox. I think this gearbox was fitted to the V 6 engine which does ring true as previous V 5 s state 3000 cc engine size so presumably a V 6 essex was fitted at some point in the cars life. The shell is quite solid and only requires some light restoration mainly to rear pillars near the vents. Most of the parts are inside the car and boot. lights. loom. heater etc. There are a few documents with the car such as copies of the original buff registration document old V 5 s and the current new V 5 in my colleagues name and stating Cortina Mk 2 Lotus with a BA 91 chassis number and engine size stated at 1558 cc. The auction is for the car. V 5 and its contents only.

I cannot guarantee all parts are there to finish so please ask questions and study the photos to assess what is there and what is not.

Please remember the item up for auction is used. over 40+ years old and in need of some restoration so I must ask buyers to satisfy themselves of suitability for their particular application/skill set before bidding and to bid accordingly.
