Right where do I start.
. I have owned my car for 5 years and I have just finished restoring her This is what has been done Brand new Ken Hannah chassis. Ken supplies his chassis with a single skin floor. I skinned the under floor. But before I did that I poured one gallon of hot wax oyle into the floor cavity and then filled the cavity to the brim with rock wool and pack it down solid. The under skin is detachable so one can get access to the cavity if one ever needs to The complete front and rear suspension. steering rack. rear body support frame and the petrol tank which is a metal one. In fact all the metal parts were shot blasted and then were painted in POR 15. POR 15 is a paint that can put painted onto a rusty surface and will kill rust dead. However I painted ONTO RUST FREE SURFACES. Once the clean metal is prepared POR 15 can be painted on and will not flake. crack or peel. It is bullet proof. New wheel bearing both sides front and rear New king pins New brake pipe from front to rear New fuel pipe from front to rear New fuel sender unit New 4 shock absorbers New rear brake cylinders both sides New brake shows both sides New stainless steel battery tray with support under under New hoo haa horn New indicators both sides New headlamp bowls both sides New headlamps both sides New windscreen with slight green tint Panels replaced Both floor panels. It might be worth mentioning that the floor pans were Furnace floor pans. You cannot get them anymore and they are superior to the floor pans of today. much more heavy duty New sills both sides Complete rear panel ( not just the outer skin)New front windscreen surround Inner and outer lower bulkhead repair panels New front wings both sides ( note one wing is an original which is twice the prices of a pattern one)New rear wings both sides All four doors are rust free The bonnet is rust free The boot lid is rust free New front bumper with new over riders New rear bumper New front bumper brackets New rear bumper brackets New canvas roof New radio Ariel Tow bar New battery All four seat frames were shot blasted. painted in POR 15 and renovated with new underneath support and new fabric All four door cards were recovered with a superior green covering All four road wheels were shot blasted and painted the inside of the wheels were in excellent condition and painted in POR 15 The headlamp bar was shot blasted and painted in POR 15 The seat runners were shot blasted and painted in POR 15 Most of the nut and bolts used were stainless steel Incidently before the all four wings were mounted to the shell they were treated with hot Waxoyle. This was done with the wings upside down and the hot oil poured in and while hot moved round the wing as to cover every single part. paying particular attention to the wing lips. As the hot oil hits the cold metal it solidifying quite quickly therefore leaving a much thicker coating.
All the box sections were treated in the same fashion. All four door and the boot lid had hot wax oil poured into the cavities. so much so it was pouring out of the bottom of the trim holes. Every single screw hole and bolt hole was filled with hot oil pumped in at 70 psi. in total three gallons of wax Oyle were used. All welded joints were sealed with two pack acrylic 3 m seam sealer which is the best available. The whole of the underneath floor pan area was sprayed with this seam sealer which remains flexible even when cured Once the whole car was complete another gallon of hot wax was sprayed on at 70 psi Sony radio/cd player with remote control and with 4 speakers with two separate tweeters and mp 3 input Sound deadening pads in all four doors and the boot floor and floors Door storage both sides Power socket for satnav or phone Oil pressure gauge Oil temperature gauges New instrument panel( speedo )New speedo cable The shell was painted inside and outside. The outside was painted twice with a flat down in between coats Electric washers Rear fog lamp Indicating warning light Two interior lights( one each side )Engine had a rebuild 10000 miles ago. 9. 1 compression. New cylinder heads both sides new valves both sides. New fuel pump. New oil breather Electronic 123 ignition New engine mountings New gearbox mounting Uprated fuse box Extended gear stick. No more leaning forward to change gear. It falls easily to hand Every single piece of trim. door handle. chrome strips. ill trims etc were filled with Waxoyle The spare wheel cover has a lid as you can see in the photo. I might add that the lid is covered in high quality leather as is the cover that prevents people seeing what is in the boot area
This is a car that will last for many years and will without doubt improve in value. Already they are becoming collectors pieces A great. almost fanatical attention to detail has gone into this restoration with no expense spared. I had no intention to sell her but when I counted the bills and the cost I had no choice but to sell. The price of the parts and materials is approx £4000 and does not include labour or the original cost of buying the car. This has a bearing on the starting price which I have set at £6000. All who comes to view will see that she is worth every single penny and I have seen some 2 cv's going for close £10000. So mine is not such a bad bet. I have a full photographic record of the restoration from start to finish which can be supplied on request The mileage is academic since most everything has been rebuilt and since the completion of the restoration she has done approx 500 miles so everything has settled down nicely Happy biding I have advertised the 2 cv elsewhere so may be withdrawn at antime Please contact me on 7 if have any questions you wish to ask of me
