1960 Sunbeam Rapier Velvet/Sage Green 1600 Man/OD, Roll cage, seam welded. MOT for sale

1960 Sunbeam Rapier Velvet/Sage Green 1600 Man/OD
Roll caged and seam welded. Ex P 2 P car prepared for Historic rallying with FIVA card. Only 4 previous owners - freshly MOT'd and ready to use and enjoy.
Built during 2005/6 for the 2007 running of the Peking to Paris Endurance rally from a low mileage good condition series 3 car. The shell was in excellent condition having undergone restoration previously. then seam welded and a roll cage and laminated windscreen fitted.
A rebuilt and de-compressed (7:1) Series 3 a engine and gearbox complete with overdrive. fitted up with new twin zenith carburettors and alternator conversion was then fitted. A re-cored radiator with extra protective screens and kenlowe fan keeps things cool. Cibie oscar spotlamps. extra interior lights. reverse spot and extra power points are fitted along with provision for a Halda/Tripmeter to be fitted.
Fuel and brakes line run inside and custom high capacity alloy fuel tank fitted with sealed bulkhead. Rear seats removed and stowage area in it's place.
Reclining competition seats with 4 point harnesses and maplight for safety and convenience.
Currently fitted with standard front springs and dampers as has been used since the event for leisure/reliability events. Recently serviced with new clutch and rear brakes fitted.
In very clean and tidy condition with good chrome and paint.
A fresh MOT is in place and being tax exempt is ready to go.
