1960 Willys 4 Wheel Drive Pickup for sale
Current customer rating: (679 votes ) based onUp for sale is this 1960 Willys pickup. This beautiful example of a bygone era has been meticulously frame off restored. as it is a real head turner!
A few specifics about the truck:
The truck has its original engine. the famed L-226 cubic inch. 6-cylinder inline "Super Hurricane" rated at 105 hp at 3600 rpm. The engine has been completely rebuilt and runs like a sewing machine. The original rebuilt transmission is the dependable Borg-Warner T-90 3 speed manual. complete with overdrive. The transfer case is the tough two-speed Dana 18. resulting in six forward speeds and two in reverse. This very original Willys also comes with the optional PTO which operates the Koenig King Model 841RT winch. The front axle is the Dana 25 and the rear axle is the Dana 53. which supply power to the 4-wheel drive. Yes. that's right. 4-wheel drive! These go-anywhere do-anything trucks are remarkable for their era (and still are). It's quite a shame that production ended in 1964.
Everything on the truck including the heater. lights. turn signals. wipers. horn. and radio functions perfectly. The radio was considered a high-price option in its day; the radio alone constituted about 10% of the original price of the vehicle! The odometer reads 20826. 1 miles. which is believed to be correct. The paint. chrome. body. and frame are in near flawless condition. The Toyo tires are 95 - 98% and the spare tire has never been on the ground; it still has the original manufacturer's paint markings on it. Front hubs are the locking/unlocking type. The truck has always been garage kept.
Included in the sale of this Willys is a DVD with pictures highlighting the process of the restoration as well as a complete service manual. If you have any questions. nbsp;comments. or if you need more pictures of anything specific. please don't hesitate to give me (Richard) a call at 828-564-3387. Everyone interested in this fabulous Willys is invited and encouraged to inspect it - no appointment is necessary. just call ahead. There are no hidden problems that I know of with this eye-catcher; it will not disappoint.
According to the serial number of the truck (5526853668) the date of manufacture was 1960. However. the title has it recorded as a 1964 model. which is incorrect. probably due to the fact that titling practices of this era were very relaxed when compared to todays standards.
Payment terms: $200. 00 deposit within 48 hrs of auction close. Balance to be paid by cash or bank cashier's check with 7 days of auction close.
Shipping is the responsibility fo the buyer. but I will be glad to assist. I can recommend a transporter who is very reasonable and careful. or you can choose your own. If close by. you can even drive it home! Storage. within reason. until pick up is no problem.
Thanks for looking at this classic and happy bidding!
