I bought the Land Rover in December 2015 fully intent on holding on to it. I have however made the decision to sell it after taking a new job which was simply too good to turn down. but which leaves me with very little time to care for and enjoy the Land Rover.

Since I bought it. it has had the following: Engine oil and filter changed New carburettor fitted New halogen headlights fitted (vast improvement on the old sealed beam units!)Air filter housing cleaned and oil changed Valve clearances checked and adjusted New rocker cover gasket New rear differential pinion oil seal and flange (including new prop-to-diff nuts and bolts)Rear differential oil changed and axle breather cleaned Front differential oil changed and axle breather cleaned Main gearbox oil changed Transfer box oil changed New water pump fitted (along with new hoses and clips)Coolant changed

It has had three previous owners a gentlemen before me who had it for about a year and two farms in North Yorkshire prior to that. I believe the first farm owned it for a few years. and the second farm for quite a few more. As I understand it. it sat in a barn for 9 years before a clear out at which time the previous owner bought it.

The previous owner cleaned up the chassis and underbody and treat it externally and internally. fitted a brand new rear door professionally painted. had all the brakes rebuilt and had the driver and passenger seat reupholstered. although the centre seat could probably do with the same at some point. The radio is part of the Land Rover's agricultural past.

The mileage is around the 75. 00 mark. I have nothing to back this up. but have no reason to believe it isn't the original/genuine mileage.

An honest Series 3 unlike many of the botched up examples I've seen for sale. with 10+ previous owners. covered in checker plate and an uncertain past. It certainly isn't perfect. but it is very original. It's a 43 year old vehicle which has not been restored and has spent the majority of it's working life on/around farms. but is in great order considering. The chassis has certainly had some repairs in the past. but these appear to have been done to a good standard. and it's extremely solid. The same can be said for the bulkhead and the body. It has had a light blow over at some point. but looks ok nonetheless.

Everything works as it should and it goes surprisingly well for a Series.

It comes complete with what I think is the original shelley jack and handles. and starting handle. all located in their original positions behind the seats. It will come with a genuine Land Rover Series 3 owner's manual. and three workshop manuals. one of which is a Haynes.
