1988 VAUXHALL ASTRA GTE 16V WHITE

I have decided to sell my 16 v Astra gte as I don't really use her as much as I could. and I have a mk 1 escort project in the garage taking its space. This car drives absolutely spot on! No knocks. rattles or unusual noises. Suspension is as should be. firm yet comfortable. Handles well and stops straight and true. The paintwork is good as it has been re sprayed at some point in the past. A small area on the rear quarter near the window has flaked. about the size of a 50 p piece.

All exterior trim is good. and the side strips on the passenger side have been freshly re stuck on. just the drivers side needs re sticking. I have taken them off as In the pics it shows the edges curling up.

Interior is near immaculate. with the rainbow coloured recaro seats and a uncracked black dash. All lcd display works fine. electric windows work fine. electric mirrors work fine. Heaters are good. rear defrost works fine. all in all. a good working car.

Tyres are nearly new. and the car recently flew through the mot and has all previous mot's to verify mileage. Car has had no advisories in the last 7 mot's and has been well cared for with lots of receipts for nessecary work needed on these cars. The bulkhead has had the strengthening brackets welded to it in approx 2010.

The rear arches have been replaced to a good standard and had a the problematic lip that holds all the dirt removed and boxed instead. The carpets are great. interior trims great. And most importantly. that engine!!! My god. it pulls like a train. Quiet and strong with a good gearbox and clutch. Engine uses no oil. and doesn't leak any pile when stood. It's quiet and strong and the gearbox is smooth and quiet too.
I have replaced the gear gaiter and handbrake gaiter with white stitched black leather which sets the inside off nicely
I have original dealer plates to go with the car if you want them
Only 5 previous owners prior to me which is low for a car that is nearly 30 years old!
This car gets loads of looks and people taking pics all the time. I have a three door cosworth and this gets more attention than that!
i have a brand new set of graphics for the car. as the previous owner painted the black strip between the front and rear windows on the sides. as they were never available until recently. so this can be done easily. I purchased a complete set of decals. so the new owner may want to replace the lot.

The car is currently stood outside and doesn't leak at all but I don't want it to stay outside as it will just deteriorate and it's too good for this.

Overall. this is a great 16 v gte which i wouldn't be afraid to jump in and travel 1000 miles tomorrow. It starts. runs drives and stops absolutely great. Everything works as it should and it still has the original radio cassette which works fine. !
Inside sunroof is clean and rust free too
White with white original wheels is a great combo. and I will be sad to see her go. but I have two other classics and this would ideally want to go to an enthusiast with a garage to keep it in.

Bad bits (being very fussy) trim needs re sticking on drivers side Small paint flake on passenger side quarter 50 p sized Small bit of surface rust on bootlid under the rear spoiler (tiny bubbled up paint ) about size of 50 p 6 x 9 . cut into rear parcel shelf Graphic between front and rear windows on sides needs replacing
Agreed value on insurance of £5750. so this will give you a good idea of the standard of this car. Not a concourse car. but not far from it! No rust underneath at all.
