Beginning in 1979. the Ninth Generation of Cadillac Eldorado was introduced and carried through the 1985 model year. It was a smaller. slimmer vehicle with several drivetrain variants used along the way in an effort to meet stricter Federal emission and fuel economy requirements from year to year. To help maintain interior and trunk space. Cadillac introduced an independent rear suspension system. They shared the same E-body chassis platform as the Buick Riviera and Oldsmobile Toronado with front-wheel-drive. The final iteration of the drivetrain for the 1984-85 Eldorados was a 4. 1 L HT 4100 V 8 engine with a 4-speed overdrive automatic.

It was driven only 18. 35 miles before trading hands to its only other owner in July 1990. Having always been garage kept since new. this example remains wonderfully rust free and in remarkable overall condition. We elected to leave the Audiovox mobile phone in place as a unique accessory of days long past by.
