MORRIS MINOR PICK-UP - FULLY RESTORED TO A1 CONDITION !!

The Morris Minor Van and Pick-up were built from 1953 until the end of production in 1972. They differed from the salon car in having a separate chassis rather than a monocoque body-shell. Engine sizes grew as they did in the saloons – first 803 cc then 948 cc and finally 1098 cc. As with other classic vans values have risen steadily as these practical and stylish vehicles have become rarer.

This vehicle is a 1971 8 CWT pick-up in Almond Green. It is presented here in A 1 condition thanks to a nut and bolt restoration carried out by “Minor Services” in Ely a few years ago. The condition is just about as close to new as a restoration can be and as good as any we have seen.

There are one or two sympathetic upgrades – an alternator has been fitted. the seats have been refinished in leather rather than vinyl and it has a saloon car diff which allows much better cruising. The engine is a fully rebuilt “Ivor Searle” unit and it performs very well - perhaps a little better than standard. The load area is correctly boarded and painted to the same standard as the body and there is an expensive matching canvas cover.
