1936 Packard Standard 8 Limousine - restoration project for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.15) based on 697 votes

1936 Packard Standard Eight 1402 limousine.   Restoration project.   Looks a bit scruffy but is very straight and solid. bit of surface rust but no rot.   Interior all original and quite good apart from missing seat base cushions.   Engine out and needs rebuilding.   Comes with a truckload of spares including two engines. gearbox. rear axle. steering box. suspension parts. propshafts and radiators.   Brand new parts include all lights. valves. fuel/vac pump repair kit. set of hubcaps. gas tank cap. ignition coil and a set of tyres.   There is no documentation with this vehicle as I didnt receive any when I bought it 30 years ago.

This vehicle is advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to end the auction early.

Comments and questions to the seller:

Dear Sir,

Is this vehicle still for sale? I am looking for a project and have always admired Packards. I restored a 1937 Cadillac many years ago. This particular vehicle my Father way back in 1961 when I was just 6 years old. My very first memory of the car was sitting in the rumble seat outside at the rear going to my grandma's house for Sunday afternoon tea as one did in those good old days.

On restoring the Cadillac convertible coupe which was a very basic Cadillac (series 60). I did realise that Cadillacs in the 1930s were no longer the Standard of the World. Apologies to Henry Leland but he had long since left Cadillac by then.
I have been told that Packards were a very strong competitor to Rolls Royce. Which I can believe as I have worked on a 1970s model which was a complete and utter rot box.

Kind Regards,

Rodger Leather
