To save wasting my time and yours I will point out:

this Rolls Royce is in Central Scotland (447. 1 miles from London) please check the AA Route finder – http://www. theaa. com/route-planner/index. jsp I'm in the FK10 postcode area.   If you are still unsure please send me your postcode and I'll check the distance for you.

If this puts you off this great Rolls Royce then thanks for reading but  now.

If you are still interested please keep reading.

Here we have my friend's Rolls Royce Silver Shadow.  As you can see this is a stunning example even in the low light and unwashed condition you can see just how good this car is.   This is a great example which has never been welded.   This is being listed with a reasonable reserve and only being sold as not getting used.   New owner won't be disappointed.

If you check my feedback you will see I am often asked to sell a car for my friends.   I have had my time wasted on more than a few occasions where sellers claim their car is in good condition and when you view it yourself it is fit for scrap.   I would rather be 100% honest and some would say harsh on the car so you know everything about the car you are bidding on so as not waste my time and yours.   It's this attitude that means people ask me to list their car as they know it will be listed honestly.

The design was a major departure from its predecessor. the Silver Cloud; although several styling cues from the Silver Cloud were modified and preserved. as the automobile had sold well.  The John Polwhele Blatchley design was the firm's first single bow model.  More than 50% of its predecessor had been sold on the domestic market where. by the standards of much of Europe and most of North America. roads were narrow and crowded.   The original Shadow was 3 1⁄2 inches (8. 9 cm) narrower and 7 inches (18 cm) shorter than the car it replaced. but nevertheless managed to offer increased passenger and luggage space thanks to more efficient packaging made possible by unitary monocoque construction.

Aside from a more modern appearance and construction. the Silver Shadow introduced many new features such as disc rather than drum brakes. and independent rear suspension. rather than the outdated live axle design of previous cars.

The Shadow featured a 172 hp (128 kW) 6. 2 L V8 from 1965 to 1969. and a 189 hp (141 kW) 6. 75 L V8 from 1970 to 1980.  Both powerplants were coupled to a General Motors-sourced Turbo Hydramatic 400 automatic transmission. except on pre-1970 right-hand-drive models. which used the same 4-speed automatic gearbox as the Silver Cloud (also sourced from General Motors. the Hydramatic).

The car's most innovative feature was a high-pressure hydraulic system licensed from Citroën. with dual-circuit braking and hydraulic self-levelling suspension.  At first. both the front and rear of the car were controlled by the levelling system; the front levelling was deleted in 1969 as it had been determined that the rear levelling did almost all the work.   Rolls-Royce achieved a high degree of ride quality with this arrangement.

The car:

starts. drives and stops as it should.

registered in UK on 2/2/76.

MOT until 16th June 2017.

6. 50 cc petrol engine.

seems undignified to give bhp after all it is a Rolls Royce so won't mention again.

automatic gearbox.

body work in excellent condition.

ready to be enjoyed.

could be used as a business or even an investment on this classic.

electric windows.

leather interior in excellent condition - does look darker in photos.

dash wood looks really bright.

door wood a bit sun faded but could be refinished to look like new again.

speed control button.

the majority of the chrome looks excellent but being overly critical couple of bits need polished - polishing by hand with autosol would make it all like new.

CD player was removed (stop someone damaging the car for a CD player) but can easily be refitted for new owner.

owner has said he will replace the front tyres for new owner.

with the way the car looks and goes you can tell there has been a lot of time. effort and money spent to keep this car in the condition it's in now.

condition can put much more modern cars to shame.

Please let all 50 pictures load before asking any questions:

this is dirt and not paint damage

Minor Points. being really picky:

3 of the electric windows don't work - assume as not getting used and MAY just need freed off if lucky.

few and I'm really just saying this to cover myself: few age related marks.

speedo doesn't seem to work. nbsp;miles at same miles since 2014 checking MOT history.   Owner said from memory the gauge to tell speed does work though.

SO AS YOOU CAN SEE A GREAT CAR IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
