The car was comprehensively restored in 1989 which included the installation of a brand new 4. 2 litre engine; this was ‘blue printed' to increase fuel efficiency. This engine replaced the original 2. 8 litre unit. Original body colour was Ascot Fawn which was changed to Regency red; a colour correct to year specification with this interior.

This was my father's car which he purchased in February 1984. As mentioned it originally had a 2. 8 litre engine and manual gearbox with overdrive. During the restoration of the car in 1988 and whilst working at TWR Race Engines I ‘blueprinted' and rebuilt a brand new 4. 2 litre engine which has only completed 4288 miles since. This was mated to the original gearbox.

The Daimler was cherished by my father and only used as a ‘weekend car' not covering many miles. He stopped using the car in 1990. It was covered in dust sheets and remained stored in its garage ever since. The onset of poor health due to cancer meant that it hasn't been on the road since. My father lost his long standing fight with cancer in July and the family has regrettably decided to sell the car.

The car was uncovered and pushed out of the garage last December for the first time in over 22 years. We took lots of photos; a selection of which can be seen here. then it was pushed back in the garage and covered over again.

I haven't attempted to start the engine or do any other work on the car. The car rolls freely and the tyres hold air. I don't believe there are any parts missing. except the front grille badge.
