1954 HRDC ACADEMY A 30
I raced this car this weekend (12/09/16) at Goodwood in the St Marys Trophy in the owners race. i finished 16 th. and in the celebrity race Karun Chandhok finished 16 th as well. But beating his television colleague David Coulthard in the pouring rain.
Ive decided to sell the car as i have a number of racing car projects to finish and at 76 years old i am running out of time. The Car had a brand new engine fitted before goodwood and it didn't miss a beat. As you can see from the black amrks it was very close racing but no dents. If you look up HRDC academy racing on the internet it has all the descriptions of the championship etc and if yo put the goodwood live feed on You Tube you can see the whole race. My car is number 16 and if you are really sharp you might see me for ten seconds. Karun had a camera in the car. i dont when this will be shown. but it would be quite interesting and am looking forward to seeing it. there is a race for the car at Thruxton on the 24 th September. the car is ready to go. And im sure with a younger driver it could do very well. As with all racing cars its always an ongoing project. but with a brand new engine. a good set of tires it is not a bad start.
I think the first bid of 25. 00 represents very good value for money. as it would probably cost 40. 00 to do it. which means a real bargain for somebody. And there is a possibility i would take a part exchange providing it makes sense.
