1985 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 380SL Roadster

No Reserve auction for a very nice 380 SL.

Low mileage.

Great condition inside and out.

It is not a show car but could easily be turned into one.

Not quite showroom but close in my opinion.

Many people stop me to ask about it.

Most can't believe it is 31 years old.

Paint is in great condition with some beautiful pin striping (not tape).

Both tops in great condition.

Cigarette smoke free.

I cannot find any signs of accident damage or rust.

This car started life in Fallbrook. Southern California. then moved to Albuquerque NM.

It now lives in Roswell NM.

I believe it has been garaged its entire life.

It has definitely lived in a dry environment its whole life.

Includes both keys and original owner's manual

No drips.

Everything works

Includes custom teal colored velour seat covers

Air Conditioning has been converted to R 134 and works well. Recent service.

However. it is not as cold as the original R-12.

Recent service includes:

Cam oiler replaced

New Spark Plugs. Wires. Distributor Cap

New throttle linkage bushings

New transmission seals

New Brake pads front and rear.

Discs look great. Brakes fully serviced

Front suspension rebuilt

Four new shock absorbers

Receipts totalling $8. 39. 31 work

Tires were new in February 2016.

They have about 1500 miles.

Michelin Defender P 205/70 R 14.

Warranty should transfer.

90. 00 mile warranty on tires.

Spare is original.

I have a 100 percent positive rating and I would like to keep it that way so here is everything I know to be wrong with the car:

A couple door dings. small dent in trunk. small scratch in trunk lid. top of the fender near the roof on passenger side has a small wave.

It looks like someone had trouble removing the roof.

The clear plastic window has some rectangular marks from storage.

Brakes sometimes squeal.

Dash has small crack so prior owner installed a dash pad.

Real wood burl near transmission shifter has small cracks.

The mirror cover for the passenger sun visor is loose.

I have not tried the cassette player.

When the prior owner registered it in New Mexico the MVD decided the mileage exceeded the mechanical limits of the odometer.

It would require over a million miles to exceed the mechanical limits. The car does NOT have 1. 00. 00 miles. I believe the mileage is actual 48. 00.

Look at the Car Fax.

When I bought it. I tried to get the MVD to change the Title.

They told me once the Title says "exceeds mechanical limits". it cannot be changed.

Buy this car. fly in to Roswell and drive it home!
