1974 Other Makes

Formula Four is a class for cars powered by 750 cc motorcycle engines (850 cc for 2-valve engines) -- like an early version of F 1000. The Xpit was designed in Ontario in 1972 by Eric Siegrist. and this example was built by Eric Siegrist and Stu Lamont. probably around 1974. It's powered by a first-generation Honda CB 750 SOHC.

The Chassis
The car is currently being run as raced in the mid 70 s. without wings. However. it has been raced in a more modern configuration. with a GSXR-750 engine and wings. The wings are included.

The Powertrain
While essentially stock in configuration. the CB 750 engine has numerous upgrades that improve reliability and. to a lesser extent. performance.

Balanced crankshaft

·

Forged Carrillo connecting rods

·

Reinforced rocker cover (rocker tower braces) as used on factory Honda race engines

·

Modified float bowl sumps (for operation under lateral G)

In addition. the deal includes the following components that could be assembled into a much more powerful (but still F-Four legal) engine.

Hilborn mechanical fuel injection system (with pump)

·

836 cc kit (larger-bore cylinder barrel and matching pistons)

·

Ported cylinder head with enlarged valves

Because of the large number of CB 750 s made. engine and transmission components are readily available from Honda dealers or online sources such as Bike Bandit and Vintage CB 750. Compared to most. this is a very easy vintage car to keep track-ready.

This car can be shipped out of Burnaby BC Canada or Blaine WA USA. The car would have to be shipped as a roll on roll off in an enclosed trailer. It will also have 1 skid of spares. We can also arrange local pick up in either Burnaby BC or Blaine WA.

Most parcels are shipped via Canada Post USA Expedited Parcel or Fedex /USPS ground estimated delivery time 4-8 business days. Please note that US boarder customs can delay the packages for 1-3 business days. We offer the best shipping rate possible and do not add any extra what we pay is what you pay.

As of January 1 st many shipping companies have raised their shipping rates. Please take this into consideration before leaving a low DSR.

CANADA SHIPPING: Most packages are shipped out via Canada Post. There are other options for shipping like Greyhound Collect (pick up from your local bus depot) DHL and Purolator. Please email us for shipping rates.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: All packages are shipped out via Canada Post or USPS.

For packages weighing less than 2 KG they will be sent via Canada Post Small Packet Air (8-15 business days) or Canada Post Small Packet Surface (4-8 weeks depending on location) this small packet service does not come with a tracking number.

All packages weighing over 2 KG will be shipped via Canada Post surface parcel (4-8 weeks depending on location) Some countries like Germany / Australia tend to hold packages in customs for up to 3 weeks.
