A Car and it's parts are original only Once. ”
Why spend more money
on other completely restored cars. es they look pretty and clean but almost
every part of the car is either painted over. e plated or a/market parts and . /market
carpets etc.
really not original any longer. Restored cars look like a fake knock off.
This is only my opinion and not to take anything away
from those amazingly restored beautiful cars.
This is a MOSTLY unrestored car. except for the complete strip to bare metal and paint in 2009 back to its original rare metallic gold paint. All parts removed - Glass. Bumpers. Etc.
Complete engine rebuild in 1997 (chain tensioner update was the only addition done to the engine) - Better safe than sorry.
I have owned the car for just over 19 years and have only driven it approx. 4300 miles since the rebuild.
The car is currently plated and on the road. weather permitting.
The
mileage
reads approx. 10500 miles (110
k miles). The
mileage
read approx. 6300 miles (106 k miles) when I got the car.
I have never washed the car with a garden hose during my ownership. The car has basically never seen any water. It has always been garaged and covered up.
The front trunk and engine compartment is still in its original paint. No paint over spray on any wires or parts in the front trunk or engine compartment.
Original gas tank in its original condition. etc.
Original interior. never restored. I added sport seats years ago and in near perfect condition.
Original carpet except the 4 floor mats and front sides.
Original unrestored wheels - spare is from a 70 S.
I am only running one battery because I kept having to buy batteries because they ended up no good from sitting around.
A/C Car.
Condenser
and compressor were removed by the previous owner. I have them in storage.
The car comes with the jack. original owners manual dated 02/1973 and is in the same production date as the car. It also comes with the tool kit bag. with only 2 tools.
This car has all its original body panels. floor and front panels.
All chrome and glass in excellent condition. windshield is not original.
Targa top in excellent condition new head liner years ago.
The braking system was rebuilt years ago and
is in excellent condition. and working properly. including emergency brakes.
All signal lenses in excellent condition with no cracks.
Paint is in excellent condition with no stone chips because I don't drive the car much or in any heavy traffic.
The car has all the original factory floor sound deadening material.
All the engine plating is still original.
Original dash with its famous crack that I filled in. It looks nice
The radio is in working condition but needs an antenna.
The engine runs very strong and pulls amazing in every gear. The engine has just a couple of oil drops. This is very common with early 911's.
This car feels like you are driving an “S” - until you reach 100 mph.
I don't have any engine rebuild invoice or any strip and paint invoices. Reason being that I have worked for a high-end body shop and did trade offs with one of the best Porsche mechanics in Southern Ontario. I do have some parts invoices but not many because I paid cash for some engine parts. example crank. cams etc.
I do have the invoice for the piston rings and chain tensioner update and
miscellaneous other parts.
Back then. I was never really into collecting invoices or taking photos. I never thought I had to impress anyone - I did and looked after the car for myself.
I lost what little photos i had of the strip and paint but am working on it. No promises
I encourage PDI if you prefer - The car speaks for itself. No B. S.
I regret selling the extended hub steering wheel and original front seats in leatherette years ago as I thought I would never sell this car.
