TRIUMPH STAG 1976 TAX EXEMPT AUTO FULLY RESTORED IN 2008 JUST NEEDS AN ENGINE

I have owned this car since 2012 after purchasing it from an elderly gentleman. It was his absolute pride and joy.
My story of the car is: 
The previous owner gave the car to a local garage to do the work needed on the engine. The job was started but never finished. The car was returned with various parts of the engine missing which were never recovered.
In 2001 a light restoration of this car was carried out. It had 2 new door skins. front wings and a front lower valance were all replaced. Then in 2008 the car had an extensive body rebuild which included a new rear lower valance. rear top deck panel. new boot lid and complete new boot floor. new fuel tank and left hand and right hand rear wing repair panels. Also that year there was a fully reconditioned powder coated soft top frame and mohair hood fitted. The soft top has a very tiny nick on the side. but is barely noticeable. The car had a full respray in 2k paint.
The hardtop is in fair condition. but will require a bit of  work to get to the standard of the bodywork of the rest of the car. All 5 alloy wheels were refurbished in approximately 2010 and still look very nice.  Both bumpers are very respectable as is all the chrome work on the car. It had a new windscreen when restored. The interior is in very good condition apart from the drivers seat. showing wear on the piping and the foam in the seat. All of the woodwork and dials are in nice condition. The car had also a full set of new carpets and sun visors at the time of restoration and are still in good condition.  
The bodywork on this car still looks very nice. Unfortunately it has a very small dent on the drivers side front wing as seen in photo. It has a couple of minor scratches and chips but definitely does not distract the overall lovely condition of the car.
When I purchased the car. it still had a current MOT expiring in 2013. so very little work should be needed once an engine is fitted. I was assured that the gearbox had no problems so should not need replacing.  
The car comes with a history file with many bills including 19 MOT certificates going back to 1991.
This is a very rare opportunity to purchase a very nice Stag. which literally just needs another engine!!!

The car has now become tax exempt. being 40 years old!!! 
The number plate is more desirable with only having 2 digits instead of the more common 3.
The reason for selling this little beauty. is because I have had it for 4 years now and sadly cannot see myself  finding the time to get in on the road. This is a very very reluctant sale.

I think I have not made it quite clear about the engine. The engine blew up in 2012 and was taken into a garage to be done. The previous owner was not in the position to complete the work. hence me purchasing it in that year. Before the car went into the garage it had a current MOT which run out that year.  Hope this clears up the confusionApologies
