£29. 00 This pre-facelift R 107 500 SL is finished in the fabulously period colour scheme of Thistle Green with Olive Green Sports Check interior. complimented by the original Mexican Hat alloy wheels and correct (for a 500) grey lower and rubber boot spoiler.
Initially supplied by Portmann Ltd of Manchester. this 500 has covered just 67. 58 miles from new supported by Full Service History – service book and receipts – all books/manuals. old Mo Ts. original brochures and a substantial paperwork file covering the mid 80 s to the present day.
Crucially. in 2014. £14. 00 was spent in substantial refurbishment at the SL Shop.
The bulkhead was subject SL Shop's replacement program. the engine's timing chain. guides and tensioner were replaced along with both cylinder heads rebuilt. new genuine MB exhaust system. new front subframe bushes. engine mounts and replacement steering damper and anti-roll bar bushes. new radiator. the list goes on… In short. post health check. everything that needed replacing. repairing or reconditioning was undertaken. Other recent work has included an air conditioning overhaul with new compressor and four new tyres. Last serviced by ourselves in June of this year. As a result. the car is in fine health and condition. maintained with no expense spared.
The condition of the bodywork is first class. The brown hood is original and superb with its original windows. The hardtop unmarked. The spare wheel has never been used.
The interior is superb and original with no wear to the seats or carpets. A modern stereo unit with USB connector is fitted to the car. although the original Blaupunkt unit comes with it.
In summary. this 500 SL is a low mileage example which has been properly attended in all departments. As a result. it drives beautifully and offers peace of mind to its next owner.
