1970 Mini Cooper S MK 3 for sale
This is a genuine Cooper S with its original body shell. which has only required minor repairs over the years. I have owned this car since 1988 and over this time. it has been significantly improved but in keeping with its period. It's not in concours condition but looks great and fantastic mechanically.
Good Bits
Engine: 1480 cc genuine Cooper S engine with thick flange block (with tappet covers)73 mm billet crankshaft/omega pistons. fully balanced and lightened. stage 2 cylinder head. Piper 285 camshaft. Twin 1 ½” SU's. Approx 2000 miles since build.
Gearbox: Genuine cooper s gearbox with ST straight cut close ratio gear set and 2. 9 diff.
Suspension: Negative camber bottom arms and rear radius arm brackets. Spax shock absorbers. adjustable tie bars. nylon bushes
Brakes: As new rear brakes with Super Minifin drums. Mini Sport as new 4 pot callipers/cross drilled discs. Aeroquip hoses.
Shell is in excellent original condition. paint work is good but there are a few blemishes but these can be easily fixed
Finished with BG alloys and as new Yokohama A 008. stainless bumpers. halogen front lights. Huntmaster bucket seats. Full sun roof. Twin Tanks.
Bad Bits :
Paintwork: few very minor scratches and a few mico blisters
Sunroof: Minor split on seam approx 20 mm long
Interior: Period wear and tear
This car has a truly fantastic engine and with a little cosmetic work. could be truly outstanding. It needs be viewed to be fully appreciated
