Triumph TR7 1981 DHC 42,000 miles solid car for sale
Current customer rating:
Triumph 'the Wedge' TR 7 - LDP 54 W. 42. 00 genuine miles. (June) 1981 Drop Head Coupe (DHC). finished in original carnelian red - most popular open top version of the TR 7 in arguably the best colour finish.
5 speed manual. 2. 0 litre. 4 cylinder. unleaded petrol. 2 keys included.
Built from British Leyland Solihull factory. right at the end of the TR 7 manufacturing life (Sep 1974 - Oct 1981) when reliability was vastly improved - earlier Speke and Canley built cars are considered to have inferior build quality.
Garaged car with no signs of corrosion. Not concours but a well looked after. honest sports car that is a joy to drive. Original condition. not been restored. welded or botched just a well looked after 1980's sports car. Original radio replaced with a CD player. Needs a new radio aerial. which are inexpensive. Original seat covers are thinned/stained and need replacing. which I have already bought from Rimmers for £340 (product item RB 7366 TAN) and will include in the sale - haven't got round to doing the work. All tyres are in good condition. Hood in good condition. with no tears or holes.
Body work is in very good condition. There are no dents or dinks to the panel work but there is the odd mark or nick. but nothing major. Car dry stored and shows no signs of corrosion underneath and has not been plastered with horrible filler to hide nasties. allowing easy inspection of underside. Plenty of photos uploaded showing bodywork and condition in boot underneath spare wheel.
First registered on 27 th June 1981. Five previous owners. with the previous owner to me acquiring the vehicle on 26 th April 1986 - owning the car for 29 years! I have owned the car for 18 months. becoming a dad 6 months ago. hence the sale to someone who has more time to enjoy and give it the attention it deserves.
Last serviced and MOT on 12 th April 2016. with no advisories. Lots of history included. such as Mo T certs. original magazine articles and a servicing repair operation manual which are not cheap to buy - £30+. Car drives and pulls well. can be driven away.
In addition to the replacement seat covers. I will also include a tailored storage cover and CTEK 4-Step Smart Car Battery Charger and Conditioner - collectively costing over £150. Willing seller but not a forced sale. so will not accept any silly offers. I have listed for a sensible price. considering low mileage and condition. and would be happy leaving in the garage and watch the price go up over the next few years. something classic cars are experiencing whilst interest rates are low.
Seriously interested parties only. Cash on collection or bank transfer. Collection from my home address in East Markham. Nottinghamshire. HPI clear. Feel free to contact me to ask questions. It would be helpful to email initially or call outside office hours. Viewings would be at weekends or evenings when daylight allows.
Thanks for looking at my wedge.
