This 1947 Mercury convertible is very rare car even compared to the Ford Deluxe V 8. the Mercury received substantially more generous factory trim and less than 1/2 of it's production run.

This merc was an original paint barn find and came with n. o. s front fenders installed when I bought it. The body was taken down to bare metal with the super straight panels all finished in PPG 2 stage blue metallic.

The car was completely disassembled and all done right. painted body color inside all panels including fenders and wheel wells.

This Mercury is a an exceptionally solid survivor with only driveline modifications to ensure a nice reliable cruiser. some may call it a very mild resto-mod. The body remains stock with all the original polished trim and stunning triple chromed bumpers.

Under the hood there is a nicely dressed and great running Ford 302 4 bbl V 8 all completely rebuilt with a mild hydraulic camshaft. ford Motorsport valve covers. custom air cleaner with edelbrock carburettor and intake. electronic ignition. upgraded cooling system using a custom Made Matsons aluminum radiator with a 3000 cfm electric fan on thermal controller. rebuilt c 4 automatic transmission and backed up with a Ford 8" rear end. All new parallel rear leaf spring conversion in the rear.

New shocks. gas tank. brakes. dual exhaust system. powder coated wheel vintiques wheels and stainless caps with radial tires for improved safety and handling.

Beautiful professional upholstry through out including seats. carpet. door panels and new white soft top with the factory glass rear window installed. Modern power hydro electric conversion was also installed for flawless power top operation. All original dash with factory instruments plus supplementary gauges for accuracy.

an ididit tilt steering column was tastefully added for driver comfort.

This is a very rare and stunning convertible that is in fantastic shape with clear California title in my name and current tags. Ultra reliable car that Stops. tarts. teers and drives great.

Down sizing private collection and this merc is worth much more than I am prepared to take for it but it needs a new loving home so it's priced to sell.
