"Cuter than a bug's ear" . is how my neighbor describes this Morris Minor.

It does make you smile and is a ton of fun to drive.

I just purchased yet another sports car for personal consumption and this little Morris Minor 1000 is now taking up much needed space for the new acquisition. I really don't want to let it go but it now seems like the right thing to do.

I can justify its sale knowing someone else will care for it as I did during my stewardship.
Have a great time and send me some photos.

"The World's Supreme Small Car" . it really was in it day.

Affectionately known in Brit-speak as the ‘Moggie" . everyone has some memory of these fine vehicles.

Through the following photos (there are many as there is nothing to hide here) and descriptions I try and show you what a fine example of the breed this little Moggie is.

Originally sold to the American market. this Morris Minor is left hand drive (LHD).
It's simple to operate and no ‘rocket science' is involved in the minimal maintenance required of its ownership.

This Morris Minor convertible came to me through a member of the Morris Minor Owner's Club in the Washington. DC area.

He was an 'enthusiast' at the very least . a true Morris Minor aficionado.
Might have even been the president of the club. of that I'm not 100%

If. during the listing period of this eBay auction. you should have specific questions regarding this Morris Minor 1000 . please just pick up the phone and call me.
My name is Peter and I don't bite.

I'll be traveling a bit this week so for a timely and detailed response to any questions a phone call will be much better that an E-mail through eBay's question and answer system.

I can be reached at any reasonable hour on my mobile phone @ 410-310-3543.
I'll be glad to help in any way I can to make your eBay buying experience a pleasant one.

Just a quick peek at the interior . more detail in later photos.

From any angle these cars just make you smile.

Classic styling from a bygone era.

With its ‘Signal Red' paint you'll be noticed at every traffic light. gas station and event you may attend.

‘Lightning fast' isn't a term I'd use here. but perfectly adequate for everything but Beltway/Freeway driving.

I've used this Morris for primarily ‘county driving' and have logged less that 1. 00 miles a year of ownership. Not a total ‘garage queen' but something close to it.

The British license plate shown in this photo comes with the car. It's something I took off another vehicle I owned years ago. This Morris was always in the US thus no British license plate was ever issued with the car.

The Morris hood ornament with the Bull logo.

The interior is as nice as the exterior.

I believe the mahogany wood accent on the glove box door was added by the previous owner.
It looks great but it's not original to the car.

The rubber mats are near new and have the Morris name embossed in them.

The seats were professionally restored by the previous owner.
Black vinyl with white piping accents.

The seats are like new and don't sag.
Both front seats tilt forward for easy access to the rear.

The back seat is the same as the front seats . new and nice.

Black leather wrapped ‘banjo' style steering wheel is in nice condition and original to the car.

Red Morris "M" ate the heel's center.

Speedometer and odometer are both working.
Odometer shows 7. 80 miles (107. 80 miles actual).

Only 2. 00 miles per year on average for its 49 years of age.

Morris leather wrapped shift knob . Morris logos everywhere.
Did I mention that the previous owner was an ‘enthusiast'?

The transmission is a 4-speed manual and is in good working order.

The engine is a 1. 00cc four cylinder with overhead valves accompanied by dual SU carburetors as shown.

It runs great although can be a bit finicky starting on very cold mornings.
Simply apply liberal amounts of ‘choke" and crank ‘till she starts.
A manual choke pull-knob is located just to the right of the ignition switch.

The builder's VIN tag located on the passenger's side of the firewall in the engine bay.

The trunk (boot) holds the spare tire. tire jack and hand crank for the engine.

This Morris Minor comes with a custom fitted car cover.

Spare tire as shown . a Michelin . same as all four tires on the car.

Shown: the black vinyl ‘boot cover' for the convertible top. I've never actually used it.

Here's a group of photos shown in a different light.

The paint has a nice luster but isn't ‘show quality'.
As I mentioned before. this is not a 100 point garage queen show car . but rather a 5 year old restoration done by the previous owner.

The cloth top is beginning to show signs of age. Very useable but again. no show car.

New tops are available and can be installed for under $500 should you choose to do so.

I chose to get ‘Historic' tags for this Morris Minor . they should be available in most states.

You can see the depth of sine in the paint in this photo . nice. not perfect.

A vintage advert showing some of the variants of the Morris Minor 1000.

I had the Morris in the hanger for the last couple of years.
I never really drove it in winter except for few rare occasions . a local parade or two.

Factory blueprint for the Morris Minor 1000.

The following photos are just some detail shots of the various components.

Near new "Michelin" tires all around . a matched set of four installed. again. by the previous owner.

Tires are size: 145SR14ZX all season radial - 95%+ tread remaining
Funny. Michelin ZXs . like this Moggie is going to do 145 MPH. Sort of overkill.

Top detail with clear and clean plastic rear window.

Another vintage Morris Minor advert.

And a few parting glamor shots I took around the neighborhood last week in preparation for this listing.

Hope you've enjoyed the tour.

Full disclosure is what I'm after here . I want you to know what your buying.

This 1964 Morris Minor 1000 is not perfect in every way but is as fine an example of the model that one could ever expect for a 49 year old vehicle. There are minor imperfections as one would well expect . very minor indeed. The breaks are week. the acceleration poky by modern standards (It's not the ‘bat out of hell' sort of car). Some very slight paint chips and a few very minor scratches that can't possible be shown in photos like these. It's not new but it's very nice. indeed.

If there is something I haven't covered please feel free to give me a call at 410-310-3543 . or drop me a line via E-mail. Phone calls are preferred as I can go into a bit more depth answering questions due to time constraints.
