1971 BMW 2002 (5-speed) for sale
Current customer rating:
This 2002 is faster than any tii I've ever owned. It is very original with the exception of a few really nice upgrades. It has the original Riviera Blue color that was resprayed about 10 years ago and it's still shiny. Original interior. with the exception of the BMW e 21 Recaro seats. and the old school sports Lecarra steering wheel (very rare one I was told!) I still have the original steering wheel and I will include it in this auction if requested. Vehicle has always been stored indoors and perfectly maintained by German Auto-Tech. a reputable BMW specialist in Southern California. Also included in this auction are all the original BMW manuals and tool set. All original keys are included for doors. ignition. trunk. and gas lid.
Interior:
Black e 21 Recaro front seats (leatherette) with black original rear seats and door panels in very nice condition. Original carpet. original 3-pc dash. and headliner also in great condition. High output JVC sound system. All gauges and instruments work properly. There are a couple of thin 2” cracks on the dash (see picture).
Exterior:
Original BMW Riviera Blue. all moldings and bright work in good condition. Small dent on the front hood molding (see picture). A dent on the rear right chrome corner bumper (see picture). All the rubber weatherstrip. bumper guards. filler panels. etc. are in good shape. no cracking. Upgraded 14” BBS wheels with matching tires all around in good condition. Rust free California car with some surface rust under the spare tire as seen in the picture. Water was spilled and trapped under the spare tire and I never saw it until I removed the spare the other day!
Mechanical:
5-speed manual transmission conversion. Weber 32/36 carburetor. It has 61. 82 miles. Shifts and drives great - very smooth yet aggressive. Steering gear has signs of leaks. No air conditioning.
This car comes with a clean California title and registration. License plate “2 K 2” is a personal plate and it's not included in this auction.
This BMW is a collectable classic car that will continue to appreciate in value. It's very reliable. I have collectable car insurance for it and it's appraised at $23 k (not that I'm asking that much!). I own a great collection of collectable classics and this Beemer has been one of my favorites. I really hope this piece of automotive history goes to someone who really appreciates it.
