Current customer rating: (203 votes ) based onComplete rebuild of original drivetrain & chassis: GMC 228 engine. head. clutch. 4-speed on the floor with "granny gear". drive shaft. rear end. powder coated frame. spring leafs. lever arm shocks. dual circuit brake system. front end and steering linkage with drive box.
Performance modifications include . 08 overbore of long block. full-flow oil filtering. dual 2-barrel Stromberg carbs adapted to original manifold. Fenton dual exhaust headers with custom routed muffler pipes. Electrical system converted to 12 volts includes orig Delco starter & generator. regulator. new Mallory dual point distributor & coil. new wiring harness. 4 corner lighting with halogen headlights and turn signals. New water pump. radiator with expansion cylinder and hoses. All body panels COMPLETELY disassembled and cab treated by strip and derust immersion process. Reassembly with new fasteners preceded by epoxy and urethane primers with initial lacquer base coat followed by final lacquer and clear coats.
Cab restoration included new door handles. hinges. panels. headliner with insulation. visors. gauge cluster and speedometer. vintage GMC repro stereo am fm radio. and 7 new glass windows allowing a surround view. Restored air flow heater with control valve and defroster ducts. vacuum wiper motor with linkage. fuel tank with new sender. and all pedal controls. Traversing seat with new era appropriate upholstery. Sound deadening applications throughout.
Rechromed original grill. badging. radiator fan and added trumpet horns. Color coordinated powder coated engine side and valve covers and intake manifold. New bumpers with valences and vintage Unity spot and fog lights. chromed fuel tank linkage. Powder coated orig split rim wheels with new 750-17 tires. Bed finished with top grade stained oak and side rails with stainless linings and fasteners.
Only 68 miles and runs FANTASTIC!
