mk2 cortina estate. im the second owner. was originally an automatic but now converted to 5 speed sierra manual. its running an hi-comp crossflow with unleaded head and gt spec camshaft. dgv twin choke. electronic ignition. electric fan.
the engine has been mounted slightly further forward so that the gear lever comes out of the tunnel in the original position. although it was an column change auto there was also the hole in the tunnel for a manual gearbox. so i made a custom front bowl winged sump and matching engine mounts so that i didnt have to cut the car to do the conversion
it has rack and pinion steering conversion using an escort crossmember. capri rollbar. escort rack. escort adjustable track control arms. capri struts with brand new m16 calipers. new master cylinder. fully rebuilt 3. 89 diff. halfshafts have new bearings fitted. drums are all serviced and recently rebuilt. headlights have been converted to the modern crystal style. it has modern pump style washer bottle mounted discreetly up inside the footwell. everything works on the car. the heater is very very good as i replaced this when i got the car. the original one had seized solid as the old fella who had it before me never used it in winter or in the wet!  i have both the front and back bumpers with all the irons. the back bumper has a dent in it but the front is very very straight. i took them off as i like the simpler look.
the interior is very very good. no rips. tears. discolouration. dash perfect. headlining perfect. you can see it has the rubber boot mat which is in almost perfect condition. this car still had the cardboard engine bay tray when i bought it. you can still also see paper tags on the wiring loom. even in the engine bay!!
wheels are kn minator 15" x 6" with 195/45/15 falken ze912 tyres with stacks of tread. as an option i can offer 13" minilights with 185/60/13s on.
underneath the car is perfect. chassis rails and outriggers are unwelded and dont need any attention. sills are fantastic. the car is in very good shape. but not perfect. there are odd dents. some slight rust bubbles showing on the wing fronts. really best if you come and have a look for yourself.
