1989 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Sport Targa G50 gearbox AFN top end rebuild for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(4.3) based on 239 votes
This is my August 1989 "G reg" 911 3. 2 Carrera Targa Sport. Finished in Baltic Blue with Linen interior. Sports Leather electric seats. Electric mirrors. Electric windows. Porsche fitted Immobiliser. It has 6"x 16 & 8"x 16 Fuchs alloy wheels which were standard for the 1989 cars. The car is fully HPI Clear. I have a fairly comprehensive service history with piles of receipts and service bills including a top end rebuild and the Clutch fork modification all done by AFN. I have every MOT for this car that I have owned for the past 3 years. It comes with it's Porsche wallet and original handbooks / service book with 13 AFN service stamps in it. Everything works as it should with no faults. The previous owner had owned it for 9 years. It has only had a total of 4 previous owners. I am only reluctantly selling as I have a 911 SC that does not get used enough. This car also comes with the Porsche certificate of Authenticity from PCGB.

I have owned classic 911's for over 30 years now and have rebuilt several of these cars over that period of time in which I have seen many so called specialist come and go. I do know these cars inside out so please do not waste my time. My car is very nice and original. I looked at several before purchasing this one. It has nice even panel gaps and very good history. it even has it's original AFN Guildford front number plate fitted. There are a couple of surface scabs where the wing meets the bulkhead plastic beading trim (see pictures) which is fairly common on all 911's. They were there when I purchased the car and they really do not bother me as I prefer to see originality in classic cars rather than concours rebuilds. The underside of the car is very clean and my MOT tester has commented on several occasions what a nice straight clean and original car it is. There is no rust or rot in the inner front wings or the lower rear wings which is very common in these cars. The Important Kindney Bowls and B posts are all solid and fully intact (see pictures). The car is pressure cleaned and sprayed with dinitrol wax to all cavities and renown rust areas. It has had all of the Targa seals replaced and also a new high quality inner and outer covering on the Targa top. Just before I purchased it the Oil pipes were replaced and a new top tint front windscreen was also fitted. During my ownership and the previous owners ownership which totals about 16 years the car has only done on average 1500 miles a year some years the car the car only covered a few hundred miles it is only used in the decent weather and taken off the road for the winter. The car pulls very well in all gears through the excellent Getrag G 50 gearbox and it feels tight and is a sheer pleasure to drive.

I have replaced the front and rear anti roll bar bushes with Super Pro Nylon bushes. Last year it was fitted with a stainless steel rear silencer. Pre Silencer and crossover pipe. The heat exchangers are in good condition and provide good heat into the cabin.

I have just given the car a full service including Oil and filter. Fuel Filter. K & N air filter 6 x new Bosch Spark plugs. New Rotor arm and Distributor cap. Alternator belt. New braided brake hoses front and rear. New discs and Pads to front and rear of the car so it is ready for another good few years Summer driving. I have also fitted relays to the front headlamp electrics which helps give a brighter beam (it's a well known conversion visit the pelican parts website for details) The steering wheel has also been changed to a Momo Corsa recently.

The mileage reads 64. 64 i have all Mot's but the service records seem to show a speedometer change early on in it's life so i would put the mileage at nearer 94. 000 which is still low mileage.

I am in no real rush to sell this so if I don't get very near the price I am asking I will keep the car.

I am based in West Kent not far from Tunbridge Wells. My network coverage is not that good on my phone so if i do not answer please leave a message and i will eventually get back to you.

Ok now for the boring bits and pieces so please read carefully:

Please: No Dealers. No Timewasters. No Dreamers & No Tyre kickers. I have seen and heard it all before.

I am not interested in part exchanges and I am certainly not interested in stupid offers either. I have no real need to sell this car so. It just means if i keep it my other 911 won't get used much.
