A 1997 Classic Carbodies London Fairway Driver Taxi Cab

Retired from London service following the Mayors 15 year age restriction on licensed vehicles in London.

This vehicle is in very nice original condition and will make a very nice collectors piece for future preservation.

It was first registered on the 8 th October 1997 as a PCO licensed Hackney Carriage vehicle.

The very last Fairway Driver left the production line in Coventry on the 1 st October 1997 so this makes this particular vehicle one of the very last ones registered.

Note: The very final Fairway made. with registration mark R 1 PFX (i. e. RIP FX). was built on 1 October 1997 and was presented to the

National Motor Museum

at Beaulieu.

The Fairway was replaced by the TX 1 which had the same Nissan Diesel engine and gearbox fitted renowned in the trade for being "Bulletproof" and extremely reliable. Its considered one of the best engines ever produced.

The inside of the vehicle has the latest grey/red upholstery and still retains the original adverts on the rear flip seats. Headlining and carpets are excellent throughout.

The bodywork is very good and consistent with its prior use as a licensed London taxi. There is some minor bubbling evident but is overall very solid. The underside of the chasis has been galvanised as required by annual Public carriage office inspections. Most recently it has only been used for filming and wedding work.

The taxi retains the original LTI meter in the front and orange 'For Hire' light which illuminates.
