The late 1980's were a particular high point for BMW's Motorsport division when Macao Blue. Nogaro Silver and Misano Red were colours reserved solely for Motorsport Division cars.

The M 635 csi were low during 1985/6 with only 317 being sold in the UK. From August 1987. 102 Highline models were sold up until the end of production in early 1989. a positive yet bold move considering that the model was clearly near to the end of its life. Of these Highline cars. around 20 cars were 'Motorsport Editions'. produced very specifically for UK dealerships. Weighing in at a whopping £46. 43 at the start of 1989. the owners of this car were in an exclusive club.

The rarity of these cars is clear. as is the very high level if trim and specification which saw them in the reserved Motorsport colours already fully loaded but with additional refinements including the green topped. graduated windscreen. de chromed Shadowline exterior trim. and tri colour M technic seat inserts.

Couple that with the use of 27 square meters of Napa leather for the interior. all hand finished - even the headlining is leather - and you begin to get a picture of just how excellent these cars were. and indeed are today.

This car. chassis 0760472. looks absolutely resplendent in Nogaro Silver metallic (243) with beautifully patinated black Napa leather (0268) seats and trim.

Buying this incredibly exclusive car is not nearly as expensive today as it was 27 years ago. but that won't last for long so why not get into a piece of BMW automotive history during what is. after all. BMW's Centenary year.
