The first 'S-Class' Mercedes arrived in 1968 in the form of the
280 S and 280 SE. both of which were large. comfortable sports
saloons offering powerful touring capabilities and luxurious
interiors. seating five occupants. The styling was updated using a
thoroughly modern design featuring the attractive stacked layout of
the headlights a popular look during the period. Although the 280
was usually powered by a 2. 8-litre. straight-six engine. br/>Mercedes-Benz added a V 8-engined 280 SE to the model range. The 280
SE 3. 5 had a 3. 5-litre V 8 engine and came with both automatic and
manual transmission. as well as power steering. These saloons were
well equipped and extremely powerful the 280 SE 3. 5 would reach a
top-speed of 125 mph and offered effortless high-speed cruising. br/>whilst ensuring a comfortable ride. Between 1971 and 1972. br/>Mercedes-Benz produced 11. 09 examples and they have been
consistently popular with collectors and enthusiasts alike.
This 280 SE Saloon has remarkably covered just 41. 96 miles
since new and during this time. has been clearly very well cared
for. The low mileage can be verified by Mo T test certificates and
service book entries and we can ascertain from the history that the
car has covered very few miles specifically in the last ten years however. it has always had an Mo T and been driven to help keep the
car in sound condition. The 3. 5-litre. V 8 engine starts and settles
on the button as you would expect and the interior is as new with
the important woodwork also in very good condition. The exterior
and chrome-work are a credit to the owner's care and ability to
shield this example from the English weather garaged for all its
life. there is little-to-no sign of rust. The car comes supplied
with a V 5 C registration document. various invoices and an Mo T test
