The Jaguar XJS was a luxury grand tourer produced from 1975
through to 1996. replacing the E-Type. Although it never had quite
the same sporting image. the XJS proved a competent grand tourer
and was actually more aerodynamic than the E-Type. The last XJS was
produced on 4 th April 1996 at that stage 115. 13 had been produced
during a 21 year production life and the specifications of the XJS
compared well with both Italian cars it was able to accelerate to
60 mph in 7. 6 seconds and had a top speed of 143 mph. From July 1981. br/>the XJS received the new High-Efficiency engine (HE) for much
better economy and as a by-product. power was increased to
295 bhp.
Presented in metallic burgundy with tan interior. this lovely
low-mileage XJS benefitted from no less than 11 service stamps from
Jaguar dealers before having been stored and unused for some time.
Subject to a recent re-commission and with TWR additions eluding to
possible enhancements early in its life- including a plaque on the
engine- this example is offered with a fresh Mo T test certificate
until September 2016. a brand new service in addition to the Jaguar
owner's owners pack and service book. With less than 65. 00 miles. br/>this could be an ideal opportunity to purchase a low-mileage
example of these fast appreciating coupés.
