Morris Motors' 1927 acquisition of Wolseley facilitated the
production of a light car intended to rival Austin's highly
successful Seven. Wolseley's 847cc. four-cylinder. br/>overhead-camshaft engine provided the motive power for the new
Minor which. with around double the Seven's output. enjoyed
markedly superior performance. The simple ladder-type chassis
featured cable-operated brakes and a three-speed gearbox with dry
clutch. Sales were disappointing and a sidevalve-engined
replacement took over in 1931. Restyled for 1932 with a chromed
radiator shell. the new Minor was revamped again for 1934 - its
final year of production - gaining synchromesh gears. hydraulic
brakes and hydraulic shock-absorbers.

This Morris Minor is a piece of history being the first Minor
off the production line fitted with hydraulic brakes. Still bearing
the original registration number of ANU308. this Morris was
featured in the press surrounding the new modern braking system.
Appearing to be in un-restored condition. she is in very good order
nonetheless and has been highly cherished over the years. Recent
work carried out includes new tyres. tubes and rim tape. battery. br/>new S. U. fuel pump. and the brakes have been completely overhauled
including the wheel cylinders. master cylinder and brake linings.
This is a charming. perfectly useable piece of classic British
motoring history. Offered at no reserve.
