Pontiac : Other "First Call" Vehicle for sale
Current customer rating: (274 votes ) based onUp for bid is this rare unmolested ORIGINAL CONDITION 1954 PONTIAC CHIEFTAIN "FIRST CALL" AMBULANCE/FLOWER CAR/EMERGENCY VEHICLE/HEARSE. It is complete and runs and drives well as the video's show. The engine shows no smoking or blow-by and appears to be in very good shape. It shifts and drives well but the brake pedal is seized at the present time. This car started out as a sedan delivery at the factory(one of only approx. 1400 made) and was lengthened into a Professional Service Vehicle(PSV) by an unknown chassis company. These vehicles were mostly used by funeral homes in rural and remote areas covering large areas. This one was most likely used as a "First Call" vehicle at accidents and as a pickup vehicle for deceased people. At funerals would be used mainly as a Service/Flower Car and in emergency situations as a Hearse. It may have been used as a emergency vehicle for a period of time as it has been painted orange at one time which you can see by looking at the pictures. This is not a running when parked 30 years ago vehicle as so many adds state that's seized tight when you try to start it up or has serious engine problems. It is a running now vehicle as the three video links below illustrate. Has some rust show but very decent overall. Front floor pans are rotted out and the upper frame extension channels are rusted badly and will need attention. Rear sedan delivery door is excellent and both side doors are very good. Front fenders solid with rust out spots at top behind lights and at lower rears areas. rockers and rear quarters are rotted as pictures show. Chrome very straight and mostly dent free overall. nbsp;but lots of surface oxidation. All door glass seems good but rear side windows(flatglass) and front windshield need replacing. Interior is quite nice condition. especially dash and gauges. but will need restoring also. Vehicle is being sold with a clear. registered. Manitoba title. I am willing to help with pickup. loading. storage. transporting. etc. The vehicle is presently located in Manitoba. Canada(about 100 miles north of the border on I29) and can be picked up here. or I can have dropped off across border at Pembina ND(58271) for a reasonable fee. Storage for a month or two while you arrange pickup is not a problem as long as the vehicle is paid for in full. Please email me. or phone. nbsp; if you have any questions. my telephone is 204-837-4214. Great restoration project. Deposit via PayPal of $500 immediately on auction close please and full payment via cashiers check within 5 days. Note: Vehicle is being sold in "As Is" condition and I also have it listed locally so I reserve the right to entertain offers and end the auction at any time. Thx. for looking.
