To modernise the Triumph TR 5 that had evolved from the
Michelotti designed TR 4. Triumph looked to produce a new modern
body. Triumph commissioned Karmann of Germany but the task was
difficult as Karmann had to produce a new body style whilst
retaining much of the original structure. The re-style included a
new nose. wings and a new tail. The result was the 'Kamm' tailed
TR 6. and was produced between 1969 and 1976. The Triumph TR 6 became
the best selling Triumph at the time with 94. 19 units sold. The
TR 6 featured the inline six cylinder engines from the TR 5 and in
the US the engine was fuelled by carburettors whilst cars supplied
around the rest of the world. including the UK. were fuel injected.
The home market TR 6 initially produced 150 bhp but was later detuned
to 125 bhp. Due to their greater power output. the early models are
sought after amongst the Triumph enthusiasts.

Supplied with an extensive history file. this TR 6 has clear
documented history for the last 25 years. Extensive remedial works
have been undertaken as well as regular maintenance. servicing and
Mo T tests including the most recent valid until April. 2015. The
overall condition is excellent with good paintwork and a tidy
contrasting tan interior. A British Motor Industry Heritage Trust
certificate confirms its credentials as an original home-market. br/>righthand drive example with Pimento red exterior paint and black
softop. Added extras when built included disc wheels. overdrive. br/>static seat belts. heater and Dunlop sport tyres. Well presented
and well documented. it's exactly what a good example should
be.
