Advertised as having “the prowling instincts of Cougar. the elegance of Continental”. the 1969 Mercury Marauder X-100 was an anachronistic blend of big-car luxury and muscle car power at a time when intermediate muscle was all the rage. The X-100 was arguably the ultimate Big Merc. its hidden headlights. fender skirts. styled alloy wheels. flying buttress roof and tunneled rear window giving it a definite air of elegance. Its sumptuous and roomy interior made it perfect for the long haul. a task it handled with aplomb thanks to Ford's brand new 429/360 HP 4 V engine that also churned out a hefty 480 lb-ft of torque. Documented with a Marti Report. this 1969 Mercury Marauder X-100 combines the big 429 with a C 6 Select Shift 3-speed automatic transmission. Its handsome Burgundy paint and vinyl roof are matched by the original and well-preserved leather interior. which includes power windows. air conditioning. tilt steering and AM/FM radio.
