"The Plymouth automobile was introduced on July 7. 1928. It was Chrysler Corporation's first entry in the low-priced field. which at the time was already dominated by Chevrolet and Ford. Plymouths were actually priced slightly higher than their competition. but offered all standard features such as internal expanding hydraulic brakes that the competition did not provide. Plymouths were originally sold exclusively through Chrysler dealerships. offering a low cost alternative to the upscale Chrysler brand cars. The logo featured a rear view of the ship Mayflower which landed at Plymouth Rock in Plymouth. Massachusetts. However. the inspiration for the Plymouth brand name came from Plymouth binder twine. produced by the Plymouth Cordage Company. also of Plymouth. Massachusetts. The name was chosen by Joe Frazer due to the popularity of the twine among farmers.

For sale by owner is this beautiful example of a '31 Plymouth 3-Window Coupe. You see a lot of early 30's Fords at car shows. when was the last time you saw a Plymouth? Please let all the pictures load (there are over 120) to see the great condition of this classic Street Rod. The current owner acquired this car 4 years ago as it was in the middle stages of the build. it is 90% complete and only needs to have the front grill finished. The body is all steel along with with the original steel fenders and running boards. The engine is a Chevy 350 with headers. mated to a Turbo 350 3- speed automatic transmission. The body sits on the original reinforced frame with a Mustang II front end and it has power disc brakes all around with rack & pinion steering. The body was removed from the frame and painted a gorgeous Mercedes Benz Maroon. The interior has been recently redone with custom vinyl seats. door panels and carpeting. It has been driven less than 1. 00 miles since completion. What follows are the details.
