Overview:
The original FIAT 600 D Multipla was based on the famous Fiat 600's drive train. model 1100 coil and wishbone independent front suspension. and unbelievably sat six people in a footprint just 50 centimetres (19. 7 in) longer than the original Mini Cooper!
It is rear engined with the driver's compartment moved forward over the front axle. effectively eliminating the trunk but giving the body a very Minivan-like "one-box" look. Behind the front seat the vehicle could be arranged with a flat floor area or a choice of one or two bench seats.
Until the 1970 s. Multipla's were widely used as taxis in many parts of Italy.

History:
This is a Euro Spec car originally registered in Catania. Italy. so it has smaller. cleaner headlight mounts and bumpers.
The car was purchased by an American Naval serviceman who was based in Italy in Jan of 2006 and was imported to California where it was maintained in top condition and shown at local events.
The car is a TV star!
In 2009 the car was sold to a Florida based dealer who in turn sold it to "Chasing Classic Cars" host Wayne Carini.
On 12/30/2009. this car was featured on an episode of "Chasing Classic Cars" where Wayne ultimately sold the car to its current owner.
