1965 Lincoln Continental Convertible. * Drivetrain;Factory 430 V8. upgraded Holley carb. stock three speed auto trans. Engine sounds good and runs fine. Transmission shifts into all gears and moves as it should. it does need shift linkage adjusted. wants to pop out of park.  Needs mufflers re hooked up.  the back section of exhaust was removed in order to do installation of air ride system.  The car was a driver back in 2011. but has not been driven since then.  I have driven it around the block a couple of times. but due to no registration and lack of mufflers it has not been driven lately.  * Factory power disk brakes with upgraded dual reservoir master cylinder . brakes seem to work good.
* Interior; new black vinyl top. new carpet kit. black leather and vinyl seats are older and a little dried out. the seats have some wear and tear. the door panels are in decent condition for their age.
*paint and body; Paint is in poor condition. older respray. dull white paint is where large scratches or body work have been done. original colors are white exterior paint and red interior.  Body is pretty straight . Rust repairs have been done at front floors and trunk pan area. and some spots on rockers and back door bottom too. pretty solid car now. * Wheels and tires 20" spoke wheels with two almost new front tires and rear tires have at least 60% tread still.  I have a set of stock wheels tires and hub caps if you prefer stock instead.
*Chrome is in decent to good original condition
*windows and glass;  glass is in good original condition.  Power windows need to be serviced. they need the gears and tracks cleaned and lubed. Most of  the power window switches need to be rebuilt or replaced. I have tested all window motors and they do wanna work.  the windows struggled to go up and down.  they will work after they are cleaned up and lubed.
* Power top;  the power top is being glitchy.  I can put the top up or down. but I have to run a jumper wire to by pass some of the relays.  I know for a fact the power motor works an can open or close the trunk or put the the top up or down.  The electric latch system will work too.  I know it needs a trunk switch and the new limit switch needs to be adjusted properly.  If those two things are fixed it may start working properly again.  If you buy it let me know if you want the top up or down and it will bypass the relays top put it in that position.  Has a new black vinyl top. less than two month old.
*options; has rare AM/FM radio. and dash photo eye automatic high beam dimmer. (not sure if it works) Standard options include. power windows. power seat. door locks. ower wind wings. ower antenna. power steering and power brakes. Clean california title.  if you live in California I will pay for most or all of the back registration fees if you give me full asking price.  If you live in a different state you will not be charged any back registration fees.
Most Lincoln Gurus agree that 1965 is the best year.  It is the last year of the really good body lines.  it has a one year only grill and rear tail lights.  the 1961-63 did not have enough leg room for the passengers in the back seat. so in 1964 the added more leg room.  1965 is the first year of factory disk brakes too.  they only made like 3000 convertibles in 1965. last I heard only like 538 are registered in ALL of the USA.  Right now is a great time to buy a classic car like this. the economy is still a little weak. this car will only go up in value in the future. When the economy gets going good this car will go up in value very quickly.  I have been watching 1964 and 65 lincolns for several years. I have not seen even one convertible with air ride go for under $20k in the last several years.  a fully restored 1965 convertible with air ride sales for $50k in this bad economy. This car is a great investment. buy now. do a little work on it and drive it as it is and paint it he color you like when you are ready.  I Know a lot about these lincolns. I currently own two convertible Lincolns. If you have questions feel free to ask. even if you don't wanna buy my Lincoln I'm still willing to talk to you about Lincolns. I'm selling this Lincoln so I will have enough money to finish my other 1965 Lincoln. I only need one.
