Porsche : 356 SUPER for sale
Current customer rating: (268 votes ) based onOnly known T5 with a factory installed electric sunroof. Sunroof motor mounted at rear of engine compartment. The sunroof works perfectly and due to the motor location it is the quietest electric sunroof you will ever hear in a 356.
14 Factory installed options including; Full Leather Interior. Electric Antenna. Signal Seek Blaupunkt radio. Chrome Wheels. Hella 128 Fog Lights. Clock. Arm Rests. etc.
Leather interior redone by Auto's International.
Bare metal repaint with proper single stage German paint.
New factory pans were installed by professional welder before I got the car. However it still retains it's original battery pan which is in good condition.
New. German wiring harness.
Radio rebuilt by Mikes. Signal seek. including sensitivity control on right knob works perfectly.
All original gauges work fine except clock which works sporadically.
Original tool kit.
Very briefly. in late 1959 Knecht put three clips instead of two on the air filter housings along with a large brass plate on each one. This car retains both of those rare. three clip filters.
Doors. Hood. deck lid and transaxle are all numbers matching and per COA. Engine is a rare. un-numbered. factory replacement case(No serial number. No case casting number. No type number) built to SC/912 specs with std/std counterweighted crankshaft. 912 rods. 912 wide lob cam. 912 cam followers. 912 heads and 912 valve gear & NPR 86mm pistons and cylinders. New Old Stock OEM muffler.
Transaxle built by Nick Federhoff of Competition Motors. Smooth and quiet with great syncros. Nick was an incredible factory trained mechanic who worked in the Porsche factory before he moved to the US in the 60's. This was the last transaxle he built before he died 10 years ago.
Rebuilt brakes with new shoes. hoses. wheel cylinders and master cylinder.
Four of the five chrome wheels are the date matched originals that came on the car. The chrome on the wheels isn't perfect. but surprisingly nice for over 50 year old wheels.
Car is quick. Runs strong to 6200 redline. Drives great. A pleasure to drive.
I've owned and enjoyed this car for over 10 years but it's time pass it on to the next person to enjoy. I've owned Porsches for over 40 years and currently have seven. down from eight. It's time to thin the herd down to two. This car was the hardest to decide to sell. but decided to keep the 1968 911S Soft Window Targa and the 1963 356B Cabriolet.

Car was refurbished to be a very nice driver. not concourse. They are only original once and as much as possible was left as it left the factory.
Sold as is with no warranty - express or implied. It is a good car that the new owner will enjoy. but like any major purchase. I would urge the new owner to inspect the car prior to agreeing to purchase.
Transportation responsibility of buyer. but I will assist with pick-up by transporter.
